About
Bounty
Hamster is set in future space and its about a girl called Cassie who's
father has been kidnapped by space pirates. He didn't come back for her
like he said he would so she decided to go looking for him. And to help
her she hired the roughest, toughest, meanest bounty hunter in the galaxy......but
he was too expensive.
So she ended up with a small blue hamster with one heck of an attitude and
a very loud mouth. That's when her troubles really began! Together they
travel through space, making new friends, and enemies, along the way!
Each episode is approximately 10 minutes long and in the UK, where I live it was aired on CiTV.
It's basically a comedy cartoon with tons of inside jokes from loads of other shows and films, like Star Wars and even The Simpsons. It has regular baddies like Moose and Abnormality Jane and you can sometimes spot various characters in the background when Marion and Cassie go in a bar for example.
The style of animation is fresh and bold and I have only spotted about one animation fault in the episodes that have been shown so far. They also use CGI for Marion's ship and most other space ships/creatures that fly around in space and a few characters such as Mega Spot. Each week I record it and watch it about two or three more times before the day's over. It's one of those shows that the more you watch an episode, the more hidden jokes and things you can uncover.
Marion
The
star of the show, Marion is basically a walking attitude problem. He's a
small blue (yes, blue!) hamster who sports an eye patch (which is actually
fake, he wears it to look more macho) and yells a lot. Most know him only
as "The Hamster" because he finds his real name embarrassing,
since it is a girl's name (much like Marion was John Wayne's real name!)
He thinks of himself as an expert mechanic and real smart. He likes to work
out (especially when he can show off on a hover-cam) and boasts that his
piloting skills are unmatched (watch out for that asteroid!!)
One thing he hates is being called "cute" (so don't call him cute
unless you want him to tear you apart or smother you)
Oh yes, and did we mention he has a secret colection of Baggy Bean Babies?
However he'll protect Cassie to the end and is determined to help her find
her father and prove that he can be a real hero.

Cassie
Cassie
is a 13 year old girl who is determined to find her father. She can be tough
when she wants to be but she often nags Marion to do the washing up and
she can't resist cute robot puppies!
She can fly space crafts of all kinds seemingly (especially when Ecto Hella
swapped bodies with her and she was left to fly his ship) and she can also
handle large multi-cannoned energiser guns. She's quite athletic (as she
proved in "Chin Raiders" rescuing Marion from the bats) and she
can also fix things like Keith if it crashes.
Although she doesn't admit it she's quite attached to her loud mouthed blue
friend and reads him bedtime stories in the evening (unless she has other
things to read bedtime stories to like robot puppies)
Cassie will stop at nothing to find her father and this will lead her on
many adventures into unknown space!!

Keith
You
didn't know the ship had a name did you?? (well actually you may have guessed
from Cassie's bio -_-)
Keith is Marion's space ship. It's pretty much home made by him and often
malfunctions. It's not capable of fast speeds (in fact it only goes at about
Warp 5 on good day) and Marion's answer to making the engine work is to
bash it repeatedly. It may not make Keith's engine work but it makes Marion
feel better!
Keith is equipped with a shuttle that disconnects from the rest of it so
they can leave the ship orbiting a planet if there's no where to land it.
Good things about it are the cool hull designs (probably spray painted on
by Marion, since one of them is the logo pic of him
) and the fact it has a wacked out name (Keith is totally funky 'cos it's
so ordinary but more interesting than Bob!!)
Bad things about it are the slowness, unreliability and the fact it seems
to have no shields. Oh yeah and no toilet. So whenever you wanna go, you
have to stop at a planet and find a bathroom or a place to pee!

Abnormality Jane
Jane
is a tough bounty hunter who travels around looking for trouble. Marion
once lost a bet with her (she kept beating him every time but he wouldn't
quit 'cos he's "a leg man" and since she has four....) and the
stake? Cassie. So poor Cassie had to hang out with Jane while Marion thought
of a way to win her back or more importantly, steal her back.
Jane has four of everything like eyes for example (You can see how she got
her name can't you?)
She has virtually no compassion for anyone or anything and rides around
on a wicked kick ass bike looking for things she can catch and sell.

Moose
Moose
is another Bounty Hunter (and terrorisor of cute little aliens) and he is
of course...a Moose! Marion hates him but how do you insult a moose? Anywho,
he kinda reminds me of Phil Mitchell from EastEnders the big tough guy type
who's his own best friend. He has his own gang.....an Amoeba called Terry
(Terry: Hello everyone! *waves*) Terry looks like Flubber and that gooey
guy from the Beetlejuice cartoons, Flubbo.
Moose tried to steal a sarcophogas belonging to an army of space travelling
mummies (that Marion had previously stolen, Moose nicked it off him) as
well as a golden allseeing chin.

Bats
The
bats are the knights who guard the All-Seeing Chin with what look like light
sabres. They are very devoted to their work in the temple and some of them
complete the tasks to ask the All-Seeing Chin a question. However most of
the time it is not pure of heart and they end up getting eaten!
In the pic to the right you can see Brother Ambidexterous waving his arms
around, eager to ask the question. He didn't last long.

The Horse With No Name
Another
bounty hunter, the Horse With No Name caught Ecto Hella in the episode,
"Trading Spaces" however he didn't realise Hella was actually
Cassie and he'd swapped bodies with her to disguise himself.
The Horse With No Name is one of the first bounty hunters we see in the
first episode along with Jane. He's a deep talking no nonsense kind of guy
who becomes thoughraly confused if you try to tell him he does have a name
if people refer to him as the Horse With No Name. It is confusing isn't
it?

Ecto Hella
He's
a big mean Rhino who fancies himself as a girl for some reason best known
to him. He stole an invention that belonged to Professor Notgerman that
enabled him to swap bodies with others just by touching them. On his hand
he had the small device that allowed him to do this. He was hunted by The
Horse and even thrown in jail (except that it just happened to be at the
wrong time when Cassie was in his body).
Anywho, he ended up in the body of a cactus!
His other crimes include throwing an ice cream truck into an active volcano.

Humbles
These
little showtune loving guys are sickeningly cute and really pathetic. They
can't defend themselves and prefer to run away (preferably in someone else
ship) when trouble approaches. They do all their best thinking through song
and they know songs about virtually everything (much to Marion's annoyance).
They have big gooey cute eyes, high pitched voices and long ears and they
resemble novelty backpacks (so Marion says).
If only they didn't sing so much *covers ears*

Professor Notgerman
Professor
Notgerman invents many interesting things...unfortunately most of them fail,
such as his experiments in nailing a jelly to a wall and making a chocolate
teapot. About the only invention he's done so far that actually works is
the device that enables people to swap bodies with other people, the one
that Hella stole.
He also invented a Fragmentor that separates substances (including Marion!)
but he destroyed it because if things stay fragmented for an hour they explode.
Gill
Gill is a devious fish-like guy who double crosses all those who work for him. In "Forget Me Knot" he used a device for taking peoples memories, meaning to sell the memories on to other people who perhaps had bad memories in their own lives. For example if someone had a bad childhood, he'd sell them the memory of a better one. The plan ended up backfiring in his face however (thanks to Mazzy and Cassie) and he became posessed with many different memories after half his memory jars were smashed.
